Abstract

Theological thought of Ellacuría leans on the philosophy of history. Therefore, in unfolding his theological notion, Ellacuría always puts philosophical analysis on the reality of history then searching the bottom line of salvation issue both in the Scripture and in history, namely the reality of crucified people. He goes to the end by summarizing that “the history of salvation is the salvation in history.” This article is attempting to go through Ellacuría’s line in order to find out his theological notion of salvation in history by holding his key notion of God’s transcendence. The searching begins with the notion of transcendence in the Old Testament going forward to the New Testament and then gets its peak attempt in Christian Transcendence
