Pelayanan Dokter Sebagai Kebajikan Praktis (Phronesis)

Abstract

The term phronesis used in the field of medicine wants to describe that doctors are men of virtue, and they should have the virtues relating to their profession. In this article, I will present the idea laid behind the study and work of medicine, that is doctors or candidates should have a holistic knowledge. One of those elements is that the field of medicine has a relation with other disciplines that work on the same material object, namely human beings. Other is that human beings are not machines, which are unorganic and mindless objects, which react nothing at all. Avoiding mistreating human beings, doctors have to have such knowledge.
