Delapan Ratus Tahun Perjumpaan Sultan Dan St. Fransiskus 1219-2019: Dasar Dialog Sekarang Ini?

Abstract

Inspired by St. Francis of Asisi, in 2019 Pope Francis made a historical visit to Egypt and United Arab Emirates to mark off the eight hundredth commemoration of the meeting of Saint Francis with the Sultan of Egypt in 1219. This meeting is considered as a model that gives some inspirations for building the Christian-Muslim relation today.  This meeting, however, was interpreted in ages from various points of view that sometimes were contrast to modern dialogue. The meaning of this meeting has to be understood in light of Franciscan mission and universal fraternity spirit found in first Regula and Testament of St. Francis
